HISTORIC YORK, LAMBING SEASON AT CANNON HALL FARM, AND THE DALES

Once we have completed our pick ups we drive North towards York. We make suitable comfort stops en route, including a lunch stop, arriving in York late afternoon before our fabulous 3-course evening meal.

Today after breakfast, you have the whole day free to explore York and the enjoy the many attractions at your leisure. The hotels location makes the day easy, with only a short walk into the centre of York.

Today will be for many the highlight of the tour. We enjoy a full day visit to the fabulous Cannon Hall Farm, as seen on TV and it's lambing season ! Cannon Hall Farm is a large, family run farm attraction. Sitting in the rolling Pennine foothills, the farm shop is famous for home produced beef, pork, lamb and a huge variety of sausages. The on site bakery produces award winning pies and delicious artisan bread every morning. The tearoom serves delicious home cooked food. Cannon Hall has won lots of praise and many awards for this outstanding attraction.

Today we spend the day exploring some of the most picturesque corners of the Yorkshire Dales. Our journey begins in the charming market town of Settle, before continuing to the iconic Ribblehead Viaduct – a striking example of Victorian engineering set amid sweeping moorland. In Hawes, the home of Wensleydale cheese, we enjoy time to soak up its lively charm. We then head to Aysgarth to admire its beautiful triple waterfalls and round off our day in the pretty town of Leyburn.

After breakfast we start our journey towards home and retrace our steps towards Dorset.
