MONDAY
After our pick ups we drive to Stonehenge, a world renowned prehistoric monument, known for its massive stone circle and rich historical significance. Afterwards we continue to Salisbury. Later we continue to Warner Hotel Littlecote House.
TUESDAY
Today, after breakfast we enjoy a drive into the Royal County of Berkshire, part of the Great West Way and a guided visit to Whitchurch Silk Mill. The Mill is built on Frog Island, around which the River Test and its tributary flow. The crystal clear waters have provided the Mill with power for over 200 years, by driving a cast iron waterwheel, which was made in the 1890s. Later we head to Milestones Museum, from cobbled streets to a seaside pier and everything between, this is a real museum of living history.
WEDNESDAY
Today we offer an optional excursion visiting Marlborough on market day. The high street, one of the widest in the UK, is lined on both sides with characterful old buildings housing an array of high quality shops. In the afternoon we continue to Swindon designer outlet. Grab yourself a bargain. £25
THURSDAY
Today we head off into the Cotswolds. The largest National Landscape in England, the southern section of the Cotswolds falls within the Great West Way. We stop in Broadway, Burton-on-the-Water and end the day with a stop at Cirencester, known as the capital of the Cotswolds. It is a historic market town in the heart of the region. Cirencester’s medieval prosperity as a wool town is reflected in its charming streets, honey-coloured stone buildings, and rich architectural heritage.
FRIDAY
After breakfast we leave our hotel after a fabulous stay and on our return journey we visit Bradford-on-Avon. Sitting along the River Avon and Kennet and Avon canal, the market town of Bradford-on-Avon is the ideal location to stop and relax along the Great West Way. Later we return to our drop offs.
