MONDAY
After our pick ups we head north and enjoy the first of our Wetherspoon's visits at Leominster and the “Dukes Head”, purpose built as Leominster’s main post office and telephone exchange. Later we continue to Wales with one more stop, this time in Ellesmere Port, enjoying a visit to “The Wheatsheaf”, another fabulous very grand Wetherspoon's.
TUESDAY
After breakfast we join our coach for a day of exploration. We start with a visit to Bangor and to the “Black Bull Inn”, a former Roman Catholic church and adjoining priest House. Later we continue to Llandudno with some free time and enjoy a visit to the fabulous “Palladium”, one of Wetherspoon's most iconic pubs. This pub is the former Palladium cinema, built in 1920 on the site of the Market Hall. This evening join our Tour Manager for a stroll to the local Wetherspoon's in Caernarfon, “Tafarn Y Porth”, a former supermarket built in the late 1960's.
WEDNESDAY
Our journey starts with a spectacular drive along the North Wales Coast Road to Ruthin and a visit to the historic Wetherspoon's “Castle Hotel”, a fine Georgian building. Later we continue to Newtown and a visit to Wetherspoon's “The Black Boy”. This stunning grade II listed three-storey building is a 17th century timber-framed lobby-entry house. Next it is across to Aberystwyth and a visit to “Yr Hen Orsaf” (‘old station’). Now onto our last visit of the day. We travel through the spectacular Snowdonia National Park to Pwllheli and a visit to Wetherspoons “Pen Cob”. The premises are named Pen Cob from their location by The Cob.
THURSDAY
Today we offer an optional excursion exploring 2 more fabulous buildings or why not spend the day exploring Caernarfon. Our excursion takes us along the North Coast of Wales. Our first visit is “The Sussex” followed by a little time to explore Rhyl. The Sussex was originally a 19th-century chapel. This was rebuilt as the Comrades Club in 1949. Next it is on to Colwyn Bay and a visit to the “Picture House”. This pub is the former Princess cinema. £25
FRIDAY
We leave our hotel for the last time but we have just enough time to squeeze in one last Wetherspoon's visit before setting off for home. We start our day with a visit to Wrexham and the “Elihu Yale”, named after the founder of Yale University, who lies buried in Wrexham churchyard. We return to our drop offs early evening.
