Carols In The Cave

After our pick ups we travel west into Devon, stopping at the House of Marbles, makers and purveyors of a world famous range of glass marbles, board games, classic toys, puzzles, pastimes & decorative accessories for the home and garden. They have been designing, making and selling fun and entertaining products since 1973, when the founder began making board games in his workshops to sell at local craft fairs. Later we continue to our hotel with time to relax before our evening meal.

After breakfast this morning we enjoy a morning excursion to Brixham. Perched on the southern edge of Tor Bay, Brixham is a vibrant and historic fishing town that combines working harbour energy with seaside charm. Known for its colourful cottages, bustling waterfront, and deep-rooted maritime history, Brixham offers a refreshing blend of tradition, culture, and natural beauty. Whether you are drawn by its dramatic coastal views, the lure of fresh seafood, or the friendly, down-to-earth atmosphere, Brixham is a town that feels both authentic and welcoming. We return to the hotel and enjoy the afternoon exploring Paignton. This evening we rejoin our coach and head to Kents Cavern for what may well be the highlight of your holiday. Begin your festive journey by enjoying the beautiful harmonies of a local choir performing timeless Christmas carols within the prehistoric cave. Then, guided by candlelight, embark on a charming tour through the cavern’s enchanting passages, joining together to sing your favourite carols, amidst the spectacular underground formations. Finally, relax in the cosy café where the festivities continue. Savour a warm included glass of mulled wine and delicious mince pies as the singer entertains you with more heart-warming Christmas tunes. We return to the hotel for a late evening meal afterwards.

After breakfast today we offer an optional excursion heading into Plymouth, Britain’s Ocean City, where stunning coastal views, rich history, and vibrant culture await at every turn. Discover a city brimming with exciting attractions, diverse shopping, memorable entertainment, and world-class events, all ready to make your stay an adventure, Or why not head to the Piazza in the city centre and browse the Christmas market to your heart's content. More than 50 traders from across the Southwest will be selling their wares in traditional wooden cabins, festooned with fairy lights. OPTIONAL EXCURSION £20

After breakfast we enjoy a day exploring Dartmoor and a visit to Tavistock. Dartmoor is a rugged 954-square-kilometre gem known for its stunning landscapes, from rolling hills to ancient granite tors like Haytor and Hound Tor, each offering sweeping views and a window into its rich geology. Tavistock is the only town in Devon to hold world heritage status. The vibrancy and uniqueness of Tavistock is undeniable with a range of beautiful local independent shops which are a far cry from today's typical high street. Not to be overlooked is the famous pannier market or the award-winning farmers’ market. It is truly a shoppers paradise.

After breakfast we sadly start our journey home, making a stop in the city of Exeter on our return.
