MONDAY
After our pick ups we continue north making a short stop at Hardwick Hall, enough time for a quick look at the house and buy some lunch. Ordered in the 16th century by Bess of Hardwick, England’s richest woman after her Queen, Elizabeth I, Hardwick is a striking Elizabethan treasure. We continue to our fabulous historic hotel - Burn Hall Hotel.
TUESDAY
After breakfast we enjoy a scenic drive to Mount Grace Priory House and Gardens. Explore the remains of England's most important and best-preserved Carthusian priory. Later we continue to Nunnington Hall, a beautiful Yorkshire manor house, nestled on the quiet banks of the River Rye.
WEDNESDAY
Today we enjoy another day out and about exploring. We start our day with a visit to East Riddlesden Hall. Hundreds of years ago this West Yorkshire manor was a thriving farming estate. Today the house tells tales of the ambition, success, and failure of those who lived and worked here and the barn displays the 400-year-old markings of proud craftsmen. Later we continue to Nostell, a beautiful Georgian house, home to a huge collection, including six of the "125 Treasures of National Trust".
THURSDAY
This morning we offer an optional excursion to two more fabulous National Trust properties. We start the morning with a visit to Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal Water Garden. The atmospheric ruins that remain are a window into a way of life which shaped the medieval world. This afternoon we relocate to Beningbrough. Beningbrough was shaped for more than 300 years by the people who lived here. The architecture and collections on the ground floor tell the story of a country house, while the Reddihough Galleries on the first-floor host changing exhibitions of contemporary and traditional artwork. £25
FRIDAY
After breakfast we enjoy a relaxing journey south. Arriving home early evening.
