THURSDAY
After our pick ups we make the leisurely journey North towards the Lake District.
FRIDAY
Today after breakfast we travel to Grasmere to visit Dove Cottage and the Wordsworth Museum with time to enjoy lunch, if you wish, before heading through St Johns In the Vale to DalemaIn House and Gardens, where you can enjoy four centuries of architecture, five acres of gardens, historic parkland and a medieval tearoom.
SATURDAY
Today why not join us for a fabulous optional excursion. We start the day with a cruise from Lakeside to Bowness with time to explore before continuing over the Kirkstone Pass to Glenridding before returning by way of Shap and Kendal making suitable photo stops en route. £25
SUNDAY
After breakfast we enjoy the highlight of the tour. We join one of the 16-seater “Mountain Goat Experience” mini-coaches and enjoy a guided day on the “High Adventure Tour”. The tour focuses around the Western Lake District travelling over the Wrynose and Hardknott Passes, the steepest in England, stopping to view the extraordinary remains of Hardknott Roman Fort 1000ft up on the fells. Enjoy the spectacular views of Upper Eskdale, Scarfell and Scarfell Pike, England's highest mountains. We stop to purchase lunch in Eskdale and in the afternoon drive onwards to “Britain's Favourite View” Wastwaster, England's deepest and most dramatic lake. The next destination is Muncaster Castle, surrounded by it's internationally acclaimed gardens and famous for the World Owl Trust. The beautiful Scenery of the Coniston Fells and Coniston Water brings an end to the fabulous day.
MONDAY
After breakfast we begin our journey towards home, making suitable comfort stops and a stop to purchase lunch in Tewkesbury before returning homeward.
